Extension Activities 2014-15


  • Adult literacy programme was organised by the department of Social Work and STARS in collaboration with Prajwala Counselling Centre on 01.07.2014 for Women at Krishnalanka, Vijayawada. The aim of the program was to spread the Importance of Literacy in daily life.
  • A Literacy programme was organized for Mughalrajpuram slum children to create an awareness on the Importance of Education and Personality Development by the STARS students on 19.07.2014.
  • Adult literacy program for women and Literacy programs for School dropouts girls at Ranigarithota was organized by STARS students in collaboration with Prajuwala counseling center from 10.11.2014 to 10.02.2015.
  • AS part of Children’s Day celebration the Department of Social Work and STARS students visited Muncipal Corporation School at Autonagar on 14.11.2014. Conducted Educational games and Quiz to the students.
  • Awareness programme at pavithratmaniketan - Home for the street girls by the STARS on 17.11.2014. Students interacted with the children and created awareness on life skills.
  • Three months certificate course on Cutting and Tailoring was conducted by the STARS in collaboration with All India Democratic Women Association at Krishnalanka, Vijayawada from 01.12.2014 to 28.02.2015. 23 women were trained in tailoring which helped them to become economically strong and improve their financial conditions.
  • Educational programmes, games and competitions were conducted at Chiguru, a home for the street boys & girls by the STARS on 24.01.2015.
  • On 24.01.2015, arranged a Skill Development Programme and Moral Classes for the homeless girls at Amodini Centre, Guntur. STARS students interacted with children.
  • Interaction with Self-help Groups at Nagaylanka was organized by the STARS students wherein they discussed about Self Employment opportunities and created awareness on Government Women Welfare Programs on 31.01.2015. 36 students interacted with the women.
  • An Awareness programmes was conducted on the importance of education at Nagaylanka boarding school by the students of STARS on the Importance of Education and Personality Development on 31.01.2015.
  • The Department of Social Work in collaboration with Prajwala Counseling Centre participated in a Social Workers Forum, a regional get together. Two faculty along with 6 students participated in the forum on 09.03.2015.
